Huawei Mate 9 impressions!
Huawei, the second largest smartphone manufacturer in the world has several goals in mind, this time. They've unveiled the new Mate 9 and they plan on tackling the problems that a lot of smartphones different from; mid rangers to flagships alike. That's bad battery, poor camera and mediocre performance. That's pretty much what every manufacturer wants to excel in every time😅, but the initial impressions of this mate 9 are looking up! These are my first impressions of the newest member in the large 'mate' family, the Huawei mate 9😍.
Design remains largely familiar to the mate 8 and the mate 7 before that. It's the same large yet slim slab of aluminum, which feels equally slippery yet premium in the hand. The screen is a large 5.9 inch 1080p panel this time. Though it isn't very pixel packed, it's plenty sharp for just about everything other than VR.
The fingerprint sensor is on the rear and it supports the same classic swipe gestures to bring down the notification shade and stuff, like other huawei phones. Oh, it unlocks super quick too😎!
The battery included is a relatively large 4000 mAh unit. Nothing mind blowing on a world of 10,000 mAh battery phones😲(click here)! But still, it isn't mediocre by any means. There's a fast charging capable USB type C port too, that makes the company promise 60% battery through half an hour of charging.
The cameras on the rear are again, Leica dual sensors. One is a 12 mp sensor with image stabilization and the other is a larger 20 mp monochrome sensor. The front camera is a wide 8 mp sensor, also equipped with software based stabilization. After looking at the brilliance of their P9 smartphone, I have high hopes and expectations here. Stay tuned for the full review😄✌.
Interesting stuff lies in the UI. It runs on Android Nougat 7.0.2 with emotionUI 5 on top. Huawei says it uses machine learning to understand how you use your phone and improve upon that. This is how they plan to ensure blazing fast performance, even after years of abuse. To back up this software, they've included their powerful Hisilicon KIRIN 960 processor along with 4 gigs of RAM. Judging by their past, I can confidently say that this will be a beast of a smartphone😎.
I'll be doing a full review soon, so check back in a few days😅✌.
