OPPO f1s review! Selfie expert?!
OPPO released the F1 recently and made a great impression on many minds. Bow they've released a subversion of it, called F1S, claiming to be the selfie expert in the market. I'm gonna give you my experience in this OPPO F1s review.
Design: Phones nowadays are getting so beautiful that they can be easily described as world of art. Even this phone is a perfect combo of beauty and technology within a metal frame. It's 7.38 mm thick and weighs 160 gm. The back feels a bit slippery because of the rounded edges and corners but overall, the phone is quite usable. Even with moderate sized hands.
The power button is on the right side along with a sim slot and volume buttons are on the left side of the phone. Up to there's a secondary microphone and nothing else. On the bottom there's a headphone jack, primary microphone and speaker grill with identical cutouts, and a microUSB port. No disappointing factors as for now.
Display: I am a tiny bit upset with the 5.5' 720p IPS LCD display at 267 ppi. It's good enough on hens of sharpness and details, but the brightness is just not enough for outdoors. The colors are on a boot warmer side too, which might be more pronounced when you compare it with some other panels out there. I can't say you'll be disappointed with it, but bear in mind it's not the best display in the world.
Performance: The F1s runs on a Mediatek MT6750 octacore processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and a Mali T860 MP2 GPU with 3 GB of DDR3 RAM. Performance was very satisfactory, with nice smooth operation without any hiccups or lags here and there. There were a few minor slowdowns, but it doesn't affect the experience in any way. There's 32 GB of inbuilt storage expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card. There's a fingerprint sensor on the front of the phone and it works really well. It uses a self learning algorithm which means it gets faster as you keep using it more. I'm quite impressed with the reliability of the sensor. You can even use it launch some applications by assigning a different finger for each app. That's quite handy, wouldn't you say.
The phone runs on Oppo's ColorOS based on Android 5.1 lollipop. I was quite curious on their choice if an older version of the OS, but everything seems smooth, so I'm not complaining. Maybe they weren't sure about their UI compatibility with marshmallow underneath. Its better to play safe, especially in important areas like the operating system.
Camera: The reason why you're reading this review is the camera on the phone! There's a 13 mp rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 16 mp front camera with f/2.0 aperture and a large 1/3.1 inch image sensor.
The camera quality is really very good with these optics. The front camera takes some stunning pictures with very nice details and excellent exposure. The camera even nails it in low light conditions by keeping the noise levels minimal pretty much every time! There are a ton of software modes like panorama selfie, which is basically a wide selfie that you capture like a panorama.
There are loads of filters along with Oppo's Beautify 4.0 photo enhancement software. It brings out the colors to be more bright and punchy and overall, it produces a very stunning image. The rear camera is pretty good too, with nice balanced shots with sufficient details captured each time. OPPO has done a very nice job on the camera department with the F1s.
Battery: The phone houses a 3075 mAh battery unit. Even though the battery standby is very good, it doesn't support any sort of fast charging. You'll get through a day with moderate usage with this battery, so no worries there.
Price: The OPPO F1s retails for a rather surprisingly high cost of 18,000 INR. Personally, I'd avoid it as there are more powerful phones out there for me, as I'm kind of a smartphone gamer and I favor performance over looks. But for those who don't care about a lot of raw power and want a phone with stunning selfie features like no other, this might make perfect sense to buy.
