Panasonic Eluga Note review
Panasonic Eluga series hasn't exactly been the most popular one yet. But they want to change that with their latest stream of smartphones. This is a review of the Panasonic Eluga Note.
Design: the eluga note has a unique build. It had a large form factor, hence the name; it's 8.1mm thick and surprisingly light at 149gm weight. It's made our of a metal unibody and is quite elegant, though not the most beautiful that I've seen at this price.
Display: the display is a 5.5" 1080p IPS LCD panel with 401ppi. It uses LTPS ( low temperature poly silicon) display technology. So display panel doesn't hold CPU temperature at a single place, but dissipates it and maintains constant temperature at all times.
Performance: it runs on a mediatek MT6753 1.3GHz octacore processor and 3GB of DDR3 RAM along with a Mali MP- T720 GPU. Not a beast when it comes to performance, but it has good amount of RAM for everyday tasks. It also comes with 32GB of onboard storage expandable to another 32GB via microSD card. The phone runs on the company's own UI called fitHome UI on top of Android marshmallow 6.0. The UI is much like stock Android. Nothing exceptional.
Camera: the camera on the rear is a 16mp sensor with f/1.9 aperture and triple LED flash, also a front 5mp sensor with f/2.2 aperture. Both the camera capture good quality images in bright lighting. The rear camera manages to reach for a bit of light in lower light situations, thanks to that larger 1.9 aperture. But the camera app seems to have a slight, yet noticeable lag. Especially with the shutter. It's nothing major, though easily noticeable on comparison with other phones at similar prices. The triple LED flash certainly brightens up the scene on usage, but at the expense of saturation, color accuracy and exposure😞.
Battery: The phone offers a 3000mAh removable unit. The standby is decent enough for a phone as this. And since you can remove the battery, you can keep spares with you and swap out your empty battery with a charged one, instantly😎👍.
Price: the phone comes at a package of 13,600 INR. Panasonic guys are definitely trying to whip up something fresh from their bakeries. Let's hope it all goes downhill from here, at the Indian smartphone market😅.
