Ringing bells elegant and elegance : review!
As hard as it is to believe, ringing bells is planning to launch several other phones after the freedom 251. These are two of them. Although they look strikingly like an LG G5 at first glance, they're aimed to give you an experience best described by the names, elegant and elegance😅!
Let's find out just how elegant they are, in this Ringing bells elegant and elegance quick review!
Design: Ringing bells always aims to make phones accessible to literally everyone. So both these phones are made out of plastic. Both phones are of similar form factor and no noticeable difference in them, but the elegance did seem a bit thicker than the elegant. Both feel, well, plasticky in the hand and leave nothing to adore. I don't think they're named after the build quality😉. There are two colors white and black.
Displays: Both phones house a 5' 720p IPS LCD display at 294ppi. Displays have very low brightness and colors are average at best😐. There seems to be a blind spot( touch doesn't register) at top left end of the elegance. Maybe that's why the 30-day replacement guarantee stands, to replace such units😒.
Performance: Both the phones run on a quad- core Mediatek MT6580 chipset clocked at 1.3Hz and a Mali MP-T400 GPU with 1GB of DDR2(maybe) RAM. There if 8GB of built on storage expandable upto 32GB. The phone was not smooth at all. Even though the UI is stock Android 6.0, it still it has lots of stutters and occasional system-app crashes.( Like settings, calendar). Lot of work to be done on the software side! Honestly, the freedom 251 demo units seemed to be more stable than these😂.
Only the elegance supports 4G with voLTE. Elegant is stuck at 3G.
Cameras: Both phones have same camera sensors. An 8mp CMOS sensor on the rear and a 3.15mp sensor on the front. Camera app seems to be the default Mediatek app. There are a few controls like HDR, exposure and a few filters built in and that's it. The camera is only practical when there is plenty of light. Don't even think of it in lower lighting😫. Front camera is OK for a quick 480p selfie. The rear camera can do 720p video recording at 30 fps.
Battery: The battery on the elegant is a 2500mAh unit and the elegance has a larger 2800mAh unit. Don't expect any sort of charging trinkets here😋✋. I cannot comment on the standby time perfectly, but judging by the low powered specs and decentt display, I can predict a pretty damn good standby and usage time for the type of users it is targeted at!
Prices: Let's get to the reasonable part! The elegant costs you around 4000 INR and the elegance costs 4500 INR. There's something that amuses me on this phone at all. I've seen far better phones at the price like the ZTE blade. I'll do a review on that someday. But if you're planning on getting this, you know, for your grandparents😅, make sure you get the elegance with somewhat appreciable connectivity and a slightly bigger battery.
